Neon Pothos, Devil's Ivy, Epipremnum aureum, 4" potted plant

A Neon Pothos, (Epipremnum Aureum) fully rooted and potted in a 4" diameter nursery pot. It will be happy to grow out for while in this pot, or you can immediately repot it in a fancier pot or a hanging basket.

The plants we are offering are not to be confused with the neon or lemon lime philodendron. This is a Pothos (Genus: Epipremnum) as determined by botanical traits very specific to the species such as leaf shape, absence of cataphylls, and the appearance of the leaf petiole.

The Neon Pothos gets its name, of course, from its bright green or neon green color. Although it may occasionally have small dark green streaks in some leaves, it is almost solidly neon green.

Another name for the Neon Pothos is Devil's Ivy. This is said to have derived from the fact that the Pothos can grow in the understory of dense forests in areas of relatively poor light, and like most pothos plants, it retains water well in its thick leaves making it tolerant of drought and poor watering habits. In other words, it can hide in shadows, and it's hard to kill. Although the Epipremnum aureum tolerates low light, it will do better and grow faster in bright, indirect light.

The Neon Pothos is an excellent hanging plant. In the wild it grows as a vine climbing tree trunks or other handy surfaces. It can grow many meters long under optimum conditions, however, as it grows, it forms rooting nodes which can be clipped with a couple of leaves and replanted to form a new Neon Pothos plant. Often Pothos owners will replant a few of these cuttings along with the parent plant in a larger hanging pot to make a truly dazzling display of thick, trailing neon green foliage.

Although it's possible, the neon pothos rarely flowers and is generally prized for its beautiful foliage.

If your area, New Hampshire, or areas in between are experiencing temperatures below fifty degrees, please order a heat pack with your shipment to keep the Neon Pothos plant alive and healthy during shipping. The heat packs are cheap, just priced to cover our costs.
