Marble Pothos Cuttings (2), Epipremnum aureum, two unrooted cuttings

Of all the Pothos varieties, Marble Pothos (Epipremnum aureum) has perhaps the most visually stunning foliage. Unlike most variegated foliage plants, the Marble Pothos has the yellow/white variegation swirled into the whole leaf rather than in solid patches. The relative amount of variegation varies from leaf to leaf and is affected by the amount of light the plant gets. If you prefer more green, keep the plant in lower light levels. Want more of the light variegation? Keep your Marble Pothos in brighter light.

This offer includes two unrooted cuttings, each containing at least two leaves and two rooting nodes with beginning root buds. This is not yet a fully rooted plant, but is ready to be rooted in either water or light potting mix.

Both will grow out into long trailing vines ideal for hanging pots or growing up a trellis. If you keep them trimmed, the Marble Pothos makes an excellent table top plants as well.

Like other Pothos (Epipremnum aureum) vines, the Marble Pothos is also called Devil's Ivy because it lives where many plants have difficulty surviving. It does well in the shadowy understory and can survive infrequent watering. Even though the Marble Pothos tolerates poor light and poor watering habits, it will grow faster and exhibit more variegation in the leaves if placed in brighter, but still indirect light.

The Marble Pothos is an excellent hanging plant. In the wild it grows as a vine climbing tree trunks or other handy surfaces. It can grow many meters long under optimum conditions. As it grows, it forms rooting nodes which can be clipped with a couple of leaves and replanted to form a new Marble Pothos plant. Often Pothos owners will replant a few of these cuttings along with the parent plant in a larger hanging pot to make a truly dazzling display of thick, trailing brightly marbled green foliage.

Although it's possible, the pothos is not known for its flowers and is generally prized for its beautiful foliage. Epipremnum aureum flowers, if you get them, look a bit like a peace lily in structure, but smaller and less colorful. Brighter light conditions and a good feeding schedule give the pothos its best chance to flower.

If your area, New Hampshire, or areas in between are experiencing temperatures below fifty degrees, please order a heat pack with your shipment to keep the Marble Pothos plant alive and healthy during shipping. The heat packs are cheap, just priced to cover our costs.
